Journal 1: Intro and Communication

Welcome, Super Sexplorers! You've found our TOP SECRET JOURNAL! Remember to email your facilitators once you've picked your journal name so we can identify you. You must post once to the journal every week, but don't limit yourself! We encourage you to use this as a space for dialogue and exchange.

Your first journal entry covers our "Introduction" AND "Communication" sections, so it has two parts:

A. Pick 2 sections from the syllabus and tell us what you'd like to get out of them. Is there a specific question you want answered, a concern about class dynamics during that particular discussion, or a subtopic you'd like to explore?

Everyone should have the syllabus, but just in case, here are the sections (feel free to include things we've already covered if we missed something important):

F- Contraception and Sexually Transmitted Infections

J- Sexual Practices and Orientation
K- Porn, Erotica and Sex Work
L- Relationships
M- Gender-Based Violence
N- Empowerment

B. We talked a lot about the way we like to communicate, and now we'd like you to think about the way you can support others in affirming your communication style. How can you help a partner or friend communicate with you better, especially when talking about touchy subjects?
